The Council of Chapter Presidents will be more active under my administration. Monthly meetings will occur with CIA & Expansion agents in charge of orchestrating this under the direction of the Lieutenant Governor. These meetings will occur in cities where we have a large population in order to ensure that as many people as possible are able to come. For example, if we were to go off our current chapters, we would have meetings in Yuma, Phoenix, and Tucson. At our annual conventions we would have the full council meet with all the chapter presidents present be able to compare what worked and didn't with even more perspectives.
Having quarterly meetings in only place and expecting everybody to travel there is ideal but problematic because transportation is nearly impossible and not cheap. This is why I want to have the full council at conventions because transportation for a majority of chapters is already paid and a majority of our chapters are represented at conventions. Convenience for chapters is priority because without them there is no JSAZ.

CIA is another department I understand really well because of how close expansion and CIA interact. They face the same problems as expansion with an addition. They have to help chapters retain the members they already have. My solution to this is one of my main points in my platform. Having a variety of activism events on the chapter level is a great way for students to get involved. Creating a fun environment and engaging environment for members is important to keep them coming back to chapter meetings and excited for our annual conventions. Activism is also really important to involve non-junior statesmen in our events so that we also get support from the local communities. The more schools know and understand JSA the easier the CIA department's job becomes.
As Director of Expansion, I know better than anyone the problems the expansion department faces. One is the lack of communication between chapter presidents and the department. The best way to help this is to have agents spread throughout Arizona (and hopefully New Mexico) so that if problems arise we have agents that can meet in person with suffering chapters or problematic administration. The other problem are chapter presidents or student contacts becoming completely unresponsive. This can be fixed by agents going to schools in person to see first hand what the chapters need or what is causing the chapter president/student contact to want to leave their responsibility.
There will be an increase of social media presence, especially on the platforms of Twitter and Facebook, to ensure there is way for chapter members to see what JSAZ has planned. I also believe that this could help bridge a communication gap. This is also how department reports will be made public. Social Media is how most members get their information from cabinet and it is incredibly important for our platforms to be up to date and very active.
I plan to help reorganize how our CIA and Expansion departments are set up. These two departments are not only responsible for gaining and keeping chapters but also for communicating between cabinet and chapters. Both departments need one or two agents per city who have the responsibility to meet with unresponsive/problematic chapters in person. Part of the assignments the departments will need to submit is evidence of weekly calls to every chapter to make sure our information is accurate and up to date. There will be an increase of elected officials presence on department calls so that they are getting first hand information.
To help within cabinet, the Chief of Staff will have the sole responsibility of making sure every Director has accurate information and is getting back to their department. Department updates will go through the Chief of Staff who will keep updated reports of every department. These will be made public to JSAZ so that there is an increase of understanding of what cabinet members' roles and duties are. I also want to re-establish the regular Council of Chapter Presidents meetings to help bridge the gap between CIA/Expansion and chapters. Fundraising. Fundraising. Fundraising. Putting an emphasis on this department is one of my main goals. Fundraising is how we get statesmen to conventions. Without statesmen, conventions cannot happen. The bigger our scholarship fund means the bigger our attendance rates. The fundraising department should be one of our biggest departments with the Director being in charge of targeting high profile donors and creating a game plan for how other cabinet members can get donations. Fundraising agents will be dispersed throughout Arizona and will be in charge of helping orchestrate the local activist fundraisers. This will, again, help increase interest from the community.
The logistics department is the next department that is necessary for the functionality of our conventions. Making them responsible for crowd control and fixing discrepancies is how I plan to make our conventions run smoother. Constant access to cabinet and logistics is very important for moderators and is something I plan to help fix with a groupme or remind 101 chat. Conventions are when non-cabinet members see us in full action and I believe it is important to show them that their state is in good hands. A smooth, successful convention shows our competence. I believe that getting active in local communities will be a great way to increase JSAZ's exposure to the public. Things such as community service and city-wide fundraisers are just some examples of how to bring a community together. The more people that know about JSA the more students are message reaches. Presenting students with opportunities to get directly involved in their communities will create more interest for JSA because students will feel like they are apart of something bigger then them. Support from our communities is how our chapters will stay strong. Chapters are the foundation of our state and success starts with a strong foundation.
To help support this idea of a greater presence in local communities, the Activism department will be increased in size with agents dispersed throughout the state. The Director, with the support of elected officials, will be responsible for creating ideas with the agents on how to create engagement aside from the Fight Apathy campaign. These constant activism activities across the state will also show just how truly active our state is. The more active we are, the stronger we become. Hello fellow Junior statesmen! Welcome to my website and to JSAZ campaign season! This journey has been unbelievable and I cannot wait to see what Spring Congress holds for all of us. One thing that I see as the most important part of my campaign is getting to know all of you in a personal way. I figured I would incorporate that into my platform. Here I will post in depth explanations of my platform in ways that any statesmen can understand. These posts will be updated frequently and the ability to comment is available. Comment any questions or concerns you have and I can address them directly! You can also share my posts on Facebook and Twitter if you want others to see what you find most important. This allows me to interact with you on all levels of social media so that you can understand my reason behind wanting to be your next JSAZ Governor. And remember to vote Compton For Gov!
